She didn’t let him get another word out; she simple pulled him back into another tongue tangling, mind blowing kiss.

It was easy to kiss her, it was hard to push her away and regain control. “Stephanie, we have to stop. I mean we have to think about this.”

“You don’t really like me do you?” She frowned as she looked up at him. “I haven’t been very proper… I…”

  “No it’s not that, I mean, I think I may love you… I just… we just…”

She processed what he was trying to say. “You love me?”

  “I… well I…”

“You do don’t you?” She smiled from ear to ear. It was Valentine’s Day and the man she had fallen for so quickly was falling for her too.

He blushed. His cheeks burned pink and the caramel color of his skin couldn’t hide it. He walked away from her, creating distance. As he walked he talked.

“Yeah, yes, okay, so I’m in love with you. I mean, I’ve been taken with you since I first saw you, but you’re nineteen. I mean, I’m only twenty-one but you, you’re… beautiful, and smart, and funny, and you aren’t afraid to eat around me, and… and your mother won’t approve of me. Your brother is going to kill me, and I don’t know if I’m good…”

“You are.” Stephanie walked towards him and took his hands. “You are good enough for me. I’m the one who doesn’t measure up.”

He laughed a half hearted laugh. “That’s impossible. You’re amazing.”

Stephanie tiptoed up to kiss him briefly on the lips then whispered, “I’m in love with you, too.”

He blushed again then said, “That’s a relief.”
